The Search Engine for Holistic Healing Methods & Healers

Updated: Sep 9

The community of like-minded people coming together begins with sharing personal stories of overcoming challenges. A collective pool of knowledge is how natural healing has been shared for generations. It is found in the grandmother cure for a common cold, the ancient spoken teachings of herbalists, and in the practices of those aware of energy, as well as in anyone interested in allowing the body to rejuvenate itself. In that spirit of sharing, I wanted to provide insight into some of my personal background. Life finds a way to write exciting and instructive stories, often from the doorsteps of our homes and tables in our kitchens. It forces us to see each other through new perspectives.

The Story of a Dad

One such story involves my father. He was a good and hardworking man who focused on creating a rewarding life for his family. Even during the GDR (German Democratic Republic, also known as “East Germany”), my father made every effort to minimize the gap between the East and West. Even we, as children, noticed these efforts.

The problem is that every effort has a price. Much like the natural world, a balance must be struck. If you place high demands on your body and mind, you must also allow for rest and refreshment. My father never allowed himself such luxuries. Pretty soon, the years of overwork took a significant toll on his mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual being. The most evident consequences were physical complaints in his body. It was then that my father received the diagnosis of gout. At this time in human history, gout was painful and classified as incurable by “conventional medicine,” meaning he would have to suffer for the rest of his life. A man who had given so much to and for his family was going to have to “pay” in the form of physical pain. When I finally spoke to my father about how the doctors were doing to find a cure or at least an underlying cause, he said, “They’re not even looking for that.” I was shocked. Every illness has a cause, so why couldn’t it be treated? Tools like genetic analysis, food intolerances, and external cause elimination could find an imbalance in the body, but those ideas didn’t resonate with the doctors or the culture around our family. Everyone believed that gout is just gout. There wasn’t anything more to do about it.

Searching for a New Perspective

Giving up on an underlying cause didn’t sit well with me. Why would we as a society accept such statements? Why wasn’t there anyone with a natural curiosity for research or a willingness to push forward? No one should face a statement of “you have only x number of months to live,” or “this is incurable.” Healing is not a purely mechanical matter.

Thinking that there is an end-all, be-all to a problem is not my way of thinking. I began to search for a solution to gout. I started with my close friends and family, then expanded to online research, and ultimately came across an institution in Thailand that offered alternative healing approaches for a wide range of illnesses, including gout.

The institute’s underlying philosophy immediately appealed to me. Instead of seeing a symptom and stopping there, they treated the whole person, utilizing methods intended to support the body’s natural healing processes. This was a casual form of self-healing that could re-engage the recovery process we all hold inside.

It didn’t take long for me to contact the Thai healers. A few weeks later, I was on a flight with my father to a new land for healing that he sorely needed.

The Trip to Thailand & Lessons to Cherish

We began our healing journey in Pattaya at a facility called “Bios Logos.” From the moment we spoke with the healers, everything about how I viewed healing shifted. They explained to me and my father how all the medications he was taking interacted with the body and caused more harm than good over the long term. These incredible people took the time to demonstrate how chemicals upset the body’s natural balance. It was as if a light switch had suddenly been flipped on, and I could see the room for the first time.

The longer we stayed in Bios Logos, the more knowledge and help we gained. My father began an intensive healing program. Yes, it was exhausting on his body, demanding a commitment to change he wasn’t accustomed to taking, but the transformation was measurable. Despite all his exhaustion from work, he began to present pure radiance. For the first time in years, I saw the man I admired and loved smile, not only with his face, but with his wonderful soul.

In only 14 days, the change became unmistakable. The gout had disappeared (yes, fully gone), and his energy levels evened out. There was no denying the new lease on life without the pain of what other doctors and well-meaning people back home considered incurable. Gout was no longer an issue, and his body recovered, regenerated, and rebalanced as if he had never had a problem before. It was, in my eyes, a miracle.

The Value of New Knowledge

I wanted to share this story because it is a motivating factor in how I see the world and the practices of medicine and healing. These wonderful human beings in Thailand showed me healing is possible, even (and especially) when conventional medicine no longer has the answers we all need.

The power of alternative approaches that view human beings as a whole instead of a singular symptom fueled my desire for more knowledge. The spark of hope ignited deep inside. Hope that for every sickness, disease, and harm done to us, there is a way for us to find healing and return to a place of balance. The only thing we need is a willingness to look for it, even when it means leaving familiar comfort zones and trying something new.

That’s why we created the Spine App – to provide a space where people can explore natural healing paths, connect with experienced healers, and learn from real stories that inspire transformation.
